The Health tip: Sleep

Busy summer schedules, children home, and days filled with activities. We are up early and enjoy having daylight into the evening. So many times we are burning the candle at both ends, we might be able to do that for a few days in a row and pretty soon it is going to affect your health. Here are a couple easy tips to help you stay healthy this summer.

l.  Watch your caffeine levels, the effects of it can stay in your body for as much as 8 hours. If you drink coffee/caffeine drinks in morning and afternoon, you may have a hard time falling asleep and getting good rest.

2. Keep your bedroom quiet, dark and cool. A bedroom that has no tv, or radio will help you sleep more deeply.

3. Watch your activities before bed, violent books, tv shows and movies get carried into your sleeping time and can be disruptive. Relax before bed, wind down about an hour before bed and see if your sleep is better.

Enjoy your summer and good sleep!
