The start of the Green Bay Newspaper

Did you know the newspaper in Green Bay started in 1833? It was called the Green Bay Intelligencer. A picture of it can be found here! You can also see it in the Wisconsin Historical Society Archives, 4th Floor,  in Madison, Wisconsin

The Green Bay Advocate was later started in 1846.

Most newspapers of the time were used as a political platform so it was common that a city would have 2 newspapers, one for each party!

Times sure have changed!!!
