Something to do and for a good cause

Good Morning Everyone

I have been hearing a lot of people saying there is nothing to do, it's cold out, all the time now and not many people go out, you don't want to bundle up and so on.
Well I can't deny that it is not cold out but there is definitely always something you can do with family, friends, or even your loved one. Remember you can always view our monthly events through our "What's Happening" link at the top and download and/or print the monthly calendar of events to see what's going on in your area.

Today I am letting you know of some local events put on for a good reason at a good cause.
Im sure you can guess....fundraisers. I have a few for the month of February that you can choose from and have something to do.

#1 Winter Blast 2014
      When? February 7th
      Time? 5:30-11pm
      Where? Riverside Ballroom, 1560 Main St Green Bay WI 54302
      Details? Syble Hopp Parent Orginization welcomes you to Winter Blast 2014. The event will begin with a family-style chicken dinner and also consist of live silent auctions, raffles, and live music by Fat Brass. It is a family event that supports Lions Camp, Special Olympics, and other community based instruction programs to assist Syble Hopp students. The ticket prices are $35 a piece and can be ordered by contacting Jessica Smits at 920.562.6250 or email jessnscott820@hotmail.com. Seating is limited and reservations only so make sure you call.

#2 A Taste of Wine & Cheese
     When? February 14th
     Time? 7-9:30pm
     Where? Radison Hotel & Conference, 2040 Airport Drive Ashwaubenon WI, 54304
     Details? Join in on the area's premier wine tasting event featuring more than 400 wines and a variety of cheeses. Cocktail attire is appreciated. All benefiting the programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay. Ticket prices are $75 in advance and $85 at the door. Tickets can also be purchased at Festival Foods in Green Bay, Depere, and Suamico.

#3 12th AnnualScrabble Bee
      When? February 20th
      Time? 6-9:15pm
      Where? Swan Club 875 Heritage Rd Depere WI 543115
      Details? This evening of fun includes dinner, cash bar, silent auction, oral auction, raffles, and scrabble with a twist. Each round of scrabble has a theme and the teams try to use words that go with that theme. Registration begins at 5:30pm. If you have questions please call 920.435.2474.

#4 Bowl for Kids' Sake
     When? February 21st and 22nd
     Time? First Day 5pm & 7:30pm/Second Day 11am & 1:15pm & 3:30pm
     Where? Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley 2929 Allied St Ashwauebenon WI 54304
     Details? This fundraiser is the largest national fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sister, raising over $20 million annually for children in need across the country. Make sure you have your team of 5 or 6 members ready to go. Secure your sponsorships from each bowler and lastly come bowl or whatch the bowlers. Team Bowlers recieve 2 free games of bowling (shoe and ball rental included), t-shirt, food, drinks, and a chance to win door prizes. #5 22nd Annual Cerebral Palsy Benefit Shoot
     When? February 22nd
     Time?  8am-3pm
     Where? J&H Hunt Club W5810 J&H Road Navarino WI
     Details? Collect $100 in pledges and shoot for 1/2 price. There will also be day raffles, prizes, and lunch will be made available too. $25 gets you 50 fun targets with $10 of it going to CP. Re-entries and kids only $15. New this year, 50 NSCA registered targets for $30 ($10 going to CP). For more questions please call 715.758.8134 or email jhclub@tds.net.
